“Somewhere Amid the Stars Above”
The following poem was written by W. Arthur Berlin in memory of little Pearl Maree Hershberger, who was drowned Wednesday Aug 20, 1902.
Somewhere amid the stars above
King Jesus reigns supreme
Within that world of light and love
Of which the poets dream.
Somewhere amid the stars above
Our darling Pearl is there,
Within that world of joy and love,
That city bright and fair,
Somewhere amid the stars above
Close by the golden gate
There stands our Pearl, the one we love
For us she’ll watch and wait
Somewhere amid the stars above
Upon the golden strand
We’ll meet our Pearl, the one we love
And clasp our darling’s hand.
Somewhere amid the stars above
In robs of purest white
We’ll dwell with Pearl, the one we love
In realms of delight.
